The House

The abode where we retire each day,
The dwelling we lovingly call home,
It goes through everything with us.
Have you ever wondered?

It absorbs your sorrows,
It smiles at yours cheers,
But sometimes, when the party music gets too loud for it,
It passes it to our vicinities.

Occasionally, when we are contending over a decision
May be it tries to suggest something.
Have you ever listened carefully?
And at times, when we are overwhelmed,
May be it asks us to calm down?

As long as we live in this abode,
It makes us a part and parcel of its subsistence.
But I sense even if we leave and move,
The house certainly remembers us by!
