Recipe : Simple Homemade Plain Pulao

Heat the oil in a cooker. Add bay leaves and whole garam masala. After a minute, add sugar and leave the flame low till it turns brown. Then add the finely chopped onions and fry till the onions turn golden brown. Add salt. Add washed rice and stir till rice changes its colour. Add 2 cups of water and close the cooker lid. After 2-3 whistles switch off the flame.

- one finely chopped onion
- sugar -1 tsp
- water
- refined oil- 3 tbs
- whole garam masala(Cinnamon stick- 1 inch, Green cardomom- 3 ,cloves- 3, Large cardomom-1, Bay leaves-2)
- Salt- to taste
