You need:
- Chicken- 1/2 kg
- Greek Style yogurt- 1 cup
- Onion- 2 medium (1 1/2 sliced and 1/2 finely chopped)
- Garlic- 5 cloves chopped
- Ginger-Garlic Paste- 1/2 tbs
- cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
- cloves- 3
- Bay Leaf- 1
- Green Cardamom- 2
- Cinnamon stick- 1/2 inch
- Coriander Leaves- 1/2 cup finely chopped
- Lime juice- 2 tsp
- Green Chilies- 2
- Garam Masala Powder- 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric- 3/4 tsp
- Chilly Powder- 1.5 tsp
- coriander Powder- 1.5 tsp
- Oil- 2 tbs
Marination:
Add chopped onions, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder, lime juice, salt, 1 green chilly chopped, ginger garlic paste and curd to the chicken. Cover and keep it in fridge for 2 hrs.
Procedure:
Heat oil in a kadahi. Add whole garam masala and bay leaf. Add garlic and sliced onions. After the onions turn golden brown, add marinated chicken. Cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. Add Garam Masala powder, close the lid and cook for another 10 minutes. Check the consistency. If you want to add some water, you can add now.
Garnishing:
Garnish the chicken with finely chopped coriander and 1 finely chopped green chilly.
Your Chicken Dahiwala is now ready!! Serve it with hot Naan or Paratha.
