Last time I danced in the rain

Carefree and happy

No worries or feeling crappy

No duties to fulfill

Like the world came to a standstill

This was the last time I danced in the rain.

The raindrops felt like precious jewels

As wind blasted through my hair

My hands went up in the air

As I matched my steps to the spatter sounds.

Why does rain feel like an obstacle, now?

Like its hindering my routine

And making me feel gloomy.

I want to caress rain again

Sip my coffee and get cozy

With my book.

While it pours, I want to

Feel the new embrace.

That's how I want to dance,

Every time it rains from now on.

I want to remember how carefree I feel

Every time I dance in the rain.

The Feeling of Fall

I love the sound of leaves crunching under my feet,

The crisp air in the morning,

The smell of pumpkin spice in the air.

It all feels like home to me.

I like to  call it a fresh start,

Or maybe even a chance to make things right.

It's the  time to reflect on the past.

Be grateful and look towards a sunnier tomorrow.

The seasons turn.

A gift from nature deemed so rare,

This is the time to love, to dream, and to share.

The old gives way  and the new takes hold,

In stories that are, yet to be told.

Favorite Furniture

O’ My trusted friend, dear couch!

Your soft cushions always give me a comfy

embrace,

You're the best piece of furniture there could be,

A place where I can truly relax.

Whether I'm reading a book,

Watching a series,

Taking a nap or just cuddling with my loved one,

You have gracefully been there for me,

Sometimes even providing a safe haven to

disappear.

You've seen me through thick and thin,

My tears, my joys, my fears,

Yet you never judge.

So thank you, for being my constant,

Right from the start

Until the very end.

That Look.

That look you gave

Makes me inquisitive

Was I attractive to you

Or was it a blank stare.

Was the vibe real?

Or is it only in my head?

I agree overthinking is my superpower

But there is no denying

The glimpse of your peek,

Felt self assuring.

Do you get thoughts in your head too?

That it could have been our little thing

Not to defy anyone,

Just to enjoy the embrace,

Experience the warmth it would bring

And live with the happy memory forever!

RomCom Days

I am tired
You are aware.
You suggest a romcom
Showing me how much you care.

I know you hate the idea of romcoms
But for me you dare,
To get through it with a smile
And surprisingly, it lasts for a while.

Before I fall asleep in your arms,
I sometimes want to blabber.
You pretend to listen
I guess, you like how much my eyes glisten?

It feels like a dream.
Those rom com days!
Now when I think of them,
I would like to believe
They were miracle cookies
With a dollop of cream!

The wonder we call 'Woman'

Shaken not stirred,
May be broken but beautiful,
Tired but does not fall,
Vulnerable, nevertheless a boss lady!

We could compare each woman to a flower
Soft and pretty,
Oh yes! She loves her kitty.
If you let her bloom
She takes away your gloom.
But,If you mess with her,
She might take out her broom :)

The never die spirit
Defines her first hand.
She lives to make you smile,
Even if she needs to whine.
Always chatty, sometimes messy
She also knows all about your dressy.

Let us salute and celebrate this wonder,
Who sometimes leaves us to ponder,
But always brings pragmatic thunder.

P.S -Dedicated to all woman in my life

Letter to my younger self

 Dear Young Me,

I know that teenage angst can get to you and make you wonder too much, but I promise this is part of the process. It is a phase and it will pass. You are just growing up. It is absolutely worth it at the end <3

Concentrate on the subjects at school that you like the most and the rest will fall in place.Do not let peer pressure get to you. Remember, an A+ cannot get you through everything in life.

Respect and love your parents. They matter and moreover never let go off your close friends.

I want you to enjoy these days to the fullest. This short period of teenage life will fly in a jiff. Go on dates, read good books, watch amazing movies(Enjoy the disney ones too. No! you arent too old for them), fall in love, journal your feelings, dance it out, go crazy and do what your heart desires. Play a sport you enjoy the most.Try your hand at an instrument or an art form. Find a hobby which will always bring on a smile no matter where you are and what you are doing in life. Most importantly, Eat whatever the hell you feel like :)

Love,

Your elder self.

What would you tell your younger self, dear reader? Let us hear it all! :)

City Lights

Golden hour is when I start
Dusk is when I begin to fade.
With a dance of to and fro
I make y'all look pretty,
And that's the most favorite part of my job.

Twinkling like a thousand stars from above
I can sense a million dreams,
Along with an abundance of hope,
Lost in a playground of imagination.

I bring you a new promise,
A moment of bliss,
And a feast for your eyes

Like a kaleidoscope
Changing colors.

I want to remind you
Of the endless possibilities,
And that, there is beauty even in darkness.
I want to be that friend,
You look upto when you feel lost,
Who will always be there to greet you,
And to provide a blanket of security and comfort
When you least expect one.

Favorite time of the day

I would like the mornings to be my favorite time of the day, where I can actually be calm before heading into a stormy day. I would very much like to get some yoga and reading done before breakfast hour and later indulge in a slow meal time. Having said that, its that time of the day which has a love-hate relationship going on with me. Most days, I hate to wake up early and on other days, the morning rush keeps me going.

However, evenings are my absolute favorite. I feel it is the most blessed time of the day. It makes me feel like I can take on the entire world (No wonder, most of my blog posts are written in the evening hours :)) Sometimes just walking out the door for a little bit or going on a mini stoll bestows immense inspiration. It brings a sense of belonging that no other time of the day tend to. Also, I get to rejoice my accomplishments of the day- be it : work documents getting done, skimming through few pages of my present read or getting one or two episodes from my current show out of the way.

As the sun goes down, I feel sorted and  am ready to put some checkmarks on to my to-do list. It brings me joy to a point that, even if it comes down to a sunday evening, going into work the next morning starts to make sense :)

What is your favorite time of the day?

Diary of a Mini-Wave

 Aloha!

My name is mini.

I travel to the shore many times a day.

Sometimes, I bring back the sand and sometimes a lot of twigs.

A lot of times I bring back plastic. My friends at sea don't seem to like that. I feel happy thinking you all left these toys for us to play with. They say it's likely to cause harm. I don’t seem to understand this. Mr. Squirtle, our turtle friend got a straw stuck in his nose the other day and things got a bit heated up. It was hilarious to watch him until he had trouble breathing.

Once in a blue moon, my parents quarrel and they call it the hurricane season. And yes! it gets plenty messy. I heard some of you compare these to rollercoaster rides. Are these fun or scary?  I am not fond of the hurricanes as I am not allowed to move out of our home base rocks. My elder brothers face the tide too. Mom keeps us safe during this time as well. How fascinating can moms be?

I like playing with a lot of you when we visit the shore. I know I cant stay longer because the other shore awaits too. However, its fun to come back each day. Some of my friends live in the parks and play with you more often than I do. They call their homes -wave pools or lazy rivers. Although I feel a little jealous about them getting more playtime, I still think it’s not too good to be lazy. Also mom said All play and no work makes Jack a mere toy.

Heartbreak has taught me....

I like how as soon as I saw this prompt my heart went through a myriad of emotions ranging from smell, sounds and to taste ;) as well. The kernel of my brain just jumped way back to high school and did a quick recap. I could visually imagine the neurons moving in reverse just like they show in the movies(in an animated way) during the few years ago... part :)

Heartbreak has definitely taught me to choose wisely. Be it about the time, when my high school boyfriend cheated on me or the time when one of my closest friends left without any explanation. Each experience has made me learn to handle loss in a better way. As the saying goes, 'Feel the feeling,do not become the emotion', I have started swearing by this. It is important to feel the grief and just let it go after a while. Do not hesitate to ask help. You have the right to feel sad, be angry and remain in your pajamas before you feel not broken again.

Without the low we sometimes do not enjoy the high in it's true sense. As a true believer or karma, I say- All things, good or bad happen for a reason be it a heartbreak or finding love again!

What has heartbreak taught you!? Let me know in the comments :)

Don't take the light away,yet!

Let it remain
Just a little while
So that my thoughts can linger
Until I can put out that
Not so perfect finger
To shut the thoughts
 I am so nuts about.

I want to
Revisit a little,
Regret a little,
Refrain a little,
And superemly
Reflect a little.
I know it isn't night yet, but the little light gives me a lot of hope
To wind down and start afresh!

Miami, Florida

Will you wait it out a little
Like you do, to forgive the dawn?
Why is the red light blazing tonight?
Is it a burst of anger or just asking me to stop?

I wish the red turns into shades of orange
As you call upon the night
So that it feels like the warm autumn
And I can whoop upon my tranquility
To call it a day!

PS: Feelings during a sunset.
