Reviving The Art of Reading

Reading to me is not a hobby, it is a lifestyle. As the saying goes,"A Page read a day, keeps insanity at bay", reading adds life to each day that passes.

The sad part in today's life is the art of reading is thriving to exist. All of us are so busy with our daily work and social media taboo, that we blame all of it on time constraint. I still remember the furtive pleasure of being a pre- teen and how I almost mugged up the Enid Blytons. Strongly recommend the Enid Blyton books to school goers. They are the best ones to start with for the one who wants to cultivate the habit of reading.

Today's young crowd and some being my contemporaries ask ' Why do we invest a week in completing a book while we can watch a 90 minute movie in HD?'

So folks I would like to answer this by mentioning a few pointers:

  • Reading has proved to reduce stress by more than 60%
  • Reading not only increases your literary skills, but also gives you a creative boost.
  • It also lets you sleep better. (something so much more needed in out gadget-based lives).
  • Of course, it provides you endless supply of information.

The sight of people still reading while they travel  ( a rare scene in today's life) brings me delight. Its my appeal to all: Please encourage others to read (especially the young minds at work).

With the thought of reviving the art of reading, I present to you my own Lending library with over 300 books. Please log on to https://www.facebook.com/bookgourmet or follow us on Twitter: @bookhub for more details :)

If you think Reading is boring, you definitely are reading 'Wrong'.
